I’ve been struggling to come up with a clear concept for my next body of work, but I thought I would post some of the images I have been working on recently. Perhaps something will come out of one of these ideas. Also, I have fixed the video restrictions issue with the previous post, now everyone should be able to view it.

It’s the end of another semester here at SUU. These are some of my favorite images from the final projects turned in by my Introduction to Photography students.

Steve Aishman’s visit was a big success and the students thoroughly enjoyed his lecture. He also paid a visit to Jeremias Paul’s Large Format Class and did a demo about freezing motion
using strobes. The students hurled 10 fast food breakfast sandwiches at him. The act was informed by Steve’s Throwing Fast Food series. Then Steve and the students made a still-life out of the remains (See image above).

My former professor from SCAD-Atlanta, Steve Aishman, will be paying a visit to Cedar City to participate in Southern Utah University’s Art Insights Lecture Series. The lecture will take place at the Church Auditorium in the rotunda at SUU at 7pm on February 18. Steve was my mentor during graduate school and taught me virtually everything I know about photography and teaching. I’m looking forward to his lecture (which is something I rarely say about hearing an artist’s lecture.) I recommend stopping by if you live in the area. Here are a few installation images of my work from the Braithwaite Gallery at SUU, where the annual faculty exhibition is currently displayed.* Tonight (Feb.16) at 7pm we will be having a gallery talk to discuss the work, so stop by if you are in the area.
